Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea
And froliced in the autumn mist, In a land called Honalee.
Little Jackie Paper, he loved that dragon puff
And brought him string and sealing wax and other fancy stuff
NO! WRONG! Stop thinking that right this very instant. This lovely song is about a dragon and his friend, and how they are separated because Jackie grows up. It is a very touching song and has nothing IN THE WORLD to do with pot. No way, shape or form. Thank you.

This summer I'm taking up a new hobby. Playing the guitar! I'm going to learn, and I'll play all sorts of cool songs- anything I want. And then I'll bring it on camping trips and play around the campfire. I think that it'll be fun. I'm excited. I'm excited for summer in general, actually. Spring Break in Phoenix was a taste of summer- tennis, swimming, just hanging out. It was fun. But now I'm ready for the REAL McCOY. Yesssiree.

I was randomly browsing blogs the other day, and I came along this post. I think that this guy is great. To quote Emily "I'd marry him" Actually, I wouldn't, unless he is in life what he is one paper. And he's (if, indeed, it is a he) probably several years older than me. But you should read this POST

For what it's worth,
It was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

I'M BACK!!! (applause, por favor) And almost 200 people have visited my site since January, which is utmostly exciting. Yep Yep. My vacation was truly amazing (well, some of it was amazing. Other parts of it were the opposite). SO, you get a list! (ohhh boy! I love lists!)

  1. Airports always amuse me, as long as the flight isn't delayed, so GOING to Phoenix was fun, got to ride DIA's shuttle, and go up several escalators, and we saw Tory Webster- my swimming friend.
  2. Scottsdale was really fun- it was in the 90s the whole time we were there. We went swimming in the neighborhood pool(which we usually had to ourselves), we played tennis, we collected golf balls in the pond next to their house (Grandpa lives on a golf course- the balls don't just randomly spawn)
  3. We went to a Cubs game. It was quite fun- for the first few innings. We saw Barry Bonds hit a 3-run homer, Sammy Sosa made several marvelous appearences, it was good fun. And I got a pretzel.
  4. GRAND CANYON! The best part of the trip. I'll post pictures, now that Ilana kindly told me how.
    • We first got there Wednesday afternoon- and we were just driving along, and suddenly BAM!, there it was. Very impressive. On Wed. we went on an 2 hour, 3 mile hike on the Kaibab trail. It was fun.
    • On Thursday, we went on a 4.5 hour, 6 mile hike on the Grandview trail. That was the highlight of the whole trip. The canyon is so impressive, and we literally hiked down sheer rock cliffs. Kinda scary, but really fun.
    • For dinner we went to this linolieum (sp?) table, order at the counter place called (I'm serious) We Cook Pizza and Pasta . It was hilarious.
    • Friday morning we woke up at 5:45 and went to see the sun rise over the canyon. It was very cool, temperature-wise. And scenery-wise, but it was kinda cloudy, so the sun came up, and then it went behind clouds, so you couldn't really appreciate the sun hitting the canyon at full force. But it was still worth it.
    • Then we went back to Scottsdale to our grandparents house.
  5. Our Aunt (Mom's younger sister) arrived while we were in the canyon- so it was fun to see her for a day and a half. She's a modern dancer in NYC.
  6. Granmma planned this gigantic (19 people) dinner with all of her relatives. Angie and I were the youngest by 15 years (and then it was our aunt, and then our parents, and the next person was 30 years older then THEM) Angie and I were given permission to hide away for most of the dinner. Then my dad started calling one of them the "Strawberry Snatcher" and I couldn't figure out why...
  7. We went miniature golfing with Grandma, and Aunt Katy, and Mom, and Angie and I. I got to drive Grandpa's red convertible there. It was super fun. (Both the golfing and the driving) I got 2nd place behind little sis.

That was about it. The Phoenix airport wasn't fun b/c we had to wait for our flight for an extra 45 minutes, and we had already gotten there a hour too early. MEH. But it was fun. Over and Out

Stay awake, don't rest your head
Don't lie down upon your bed
While the moon drifts in the skies
Stay awake, don't close your eyes

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! And all thanks to Miss Ilana, thank you very much for your helpful HTMLing tips. I think my site is marvolous. I don't mean to brag, in fact, I don't expect any one else to like it NEAR as much as me, but it still makes me happy inside. HOORAY!

So, now it is Spring Break. Everyone at tennis was about to fall over from exhaustion, I thought it was slightly humorous. But, it finished early, so I am happy. Spring Break, Spring Break, falalalala. I'm going to Scottsdale AZ tomorrow morning, and then to the Grand Canyon, so I am super excited. I've never been to the "canyon that is grand" (as Jenni likes to say) And we get to see our grandparents and aunt. I hope everyone else has also has a fabulous, wonderful beyond reason, incredible break. I'll post again next week when I return from my adventures!
Live Long and Prosper!

Well, I tried to make my blog be more Kristen-like, with a Mary Poppins picture and blue background. The picture isn't working, I'm just not computer-savvy enough. You'll have to excuse the big blank box for a while... I'll change it back to "I'm only happy when it rains" soon. And, no, I don't listen to Garbage, I didn't even know that those were song lyrics. Thank you very much Ilana, you're a pal.

Do you like my new site? I think it is fabulous!! I didn't design it, though, but I didn't design the other one, either, I just changed the colors. So, here it is. Please continue to read it, and leave a comment if you completely despise it for whatever reasons. THANKS LLAP

It was a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people-eater
A One-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people-eater
A one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people-eater
And it sure looked strange to me.

"Feed the birds," that's what she cries,
While overhead, her birds fill the skies.
All around the cathedral, the saints and apostles
Look down as she sells her wares;
Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling
Each time someone shows that he cares.
Though her words are simple and few,
Listen, listen, she's calling to you --
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,

I fell asleep listening that song last night. Julie Andrews wrote those lyrics, and sang them. That's pretty cool, if I do say so myself. Julie Andrews is my hero. She was recently made a "Dame" in England. Not sure exactly what tha means, but I think it's the women's form of being knighted. That would be really cool, I think, to be knighted by the Queen of England. America doesn't have anything like that- to acknowlegde outstanding people. There was Sir Francis Drake (the pirate-like defender of England from the Spanish Armada) and Sir Sean Connery (a British actor, famous for his roles as James Bond) Two very different, very talented people. Of course, we don't have a queen (or king) either, because we're stuck on democracy. Which is a good thing. It's just cool to have a symbolic royalty, I think. Yep Yep. Have a LOVELY, MARVOLOUS, FRIVOLOUS weekend! =)

Jane and Michael- Please Mary Poppins, Please!
Mary Poppins-I have no intention of making a spectacle of myself, thank you.
Bert- All right, I'll do it myself
Mary Poppins- Do what?
Bert- A bit of magic
Michael-A bit of magic?
Bert-It's easy. Let's see. You think. You wink. You do a double blink. You close your eyes and.... jump!
Jane- Is something supposed to happen?
Mary- Bert, what utter nonsense! Ohh! Why do you always complicate things that are really quite simple?

I had a tennis match today. It was fun, kinda. Emily and I played together, which is always very pleasant. But we won 6-0, 6-1, and it's always a bummer to win so completely and totally, it's not challenging for you, and the other people are so down they aren't having any fun. It's like winning a swim race by 10 seconds and not even swimming your best time. So I feel bad. But, what can you do? It's better than losing when you should have won.

There's a Dr. Pepper commercial on, and the people look really familiar, but I'm bad with celebreties, so I have no idea who they are. Sorry if I threw anyone for a loop by using a quote-thing rather than a song. Yep Yep.

Previously on the Kay 'n Bee's Movie Review (That's how they start West Wing, except it's West Wing instead of Kay 'n Bee's.... Yeah)HI! Kay 'n Bee just saw Hidalgo starring Viggo Mortensen, and it was very good. And here is our review.
Kay-Lots of action, looked like an Indian Jones movie- especially Raiders of the Lost Ark. Very nicely done
Bee-I, too, liked it. The story was about an American Cowboy in the Middle East in a 3,000 mile horse race. Frank Herbert's (Viggo Mortensen) dad was in the calvary and mother was an indian. The movie spent a fair amount of time on Frank's "hidden"face- his Indian hertitage. I liked that part, but at some points it was a little over done.
Kay-Like the metaphor between him and an Arabic women who couldn't show her face?
Bee-YEP

So, now we continue
KAY- If you liked Indian Jones, then this is a movie for you
Bee- I second that opinion. With the horses and the bad-guys without any character development, the action and the girls...
Kay- Although Frank wasn't as caught up with ladies as Indy was, same kinda picture
Bee-...and the desert-scenery, and the random people showing up to help him....
Kay- There were lots of random people. People who showed up and Frank helped them, then they helped Fred.
Bee- But they did help, and helped in interesting ways, too.
Kay- I'm not saying that's a bad thing
Bee- You sure sounded like it
Kay- Well SORRY (especially to that random guy who was killed for Frank's sake)
Bee- You should be!

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand but it won't pay the rental
On your humble flat or help you at the automat

Moulin Rouge- good movie, although I've never seen it. This song was in Pops, too. It was very well choreographed, in my professional opinion. YEP YEP. It snowed a lot here last night, very nice. Tennis was cancelled, but we're still going to go up to Steamboat to ski. I'm utmostly excited. I hope Kerry beats Bush. "You're our only hope"

'Cause you cant stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the rain from above
They can try to stop the paradise
We're dreaming of
But they cannot stop the rhythm
Of two hearts in love to stay
'Cause you cant stop the beat!
Yep, yet another Pops song. I really liked this one.
Hindalgo comes out on Friday, I'll probably go see it, I hope so, at least. It looks really good. The last movie I wanted to see "The Perfect Score" turned out to be not that good, and I didn't see it. Alas. Well, it's supper-time.
