Loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me offa my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
Yep, another Pops song. That'll be my theme for several more days. YepYep. You'd better believe it. Went skiing today with my sister and dad and pal Steph. It was good fun uintil we got stuck in traffic for 4 hours. It wasn't bad, actually, it was like 4 hours in biology, and not even close to being as painful as 4 hours in Spanish.

OOH! OOH! The president of the academy is talking about To Kill A Mockingbird. Good book, that. I'm watching the Oscars and the same time as writing this post. I love To Kill A Mockingbird, wonderful, really. Great story in a understandable and funny book. Gregory Peck, that's who was in TKAM as Atticus. Well, I must return to the Acadamy Awards, I need to be cultured, don't you know. LLAP (my new AIM short-cut for Live Long and Prosper =)

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

There's no business like show business like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing,
Everything that traffic will allow
Nowhere could you get that happy feeling when you are
Stealing that extra bow

So, imagine this. A one man show where the actor swiches randomly from famous quote to famous song and back again. For example...
It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done, it is a far, far better rest that I go to Infinity and Beyond the shore/ Where the gulls fly free/Don't know what for every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun, and SNAP..
And then it goes on and some how manages to get to
...Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well Hello, Dolly, Well, Hello Dolly, It's so nice to have you back where you belong... HAHAHAHA. I crack myself up.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Yeah, I have no idea about the rest of that song. None whatsoever. I don't really even know the tune, except for the tune of the chourus. That's kinda odd, ain't it. Anyway, Emily has kindly forgiven me, whether or not I deserve it. But I do, I guess, 'cause it wasn't my fault, really, but I still feel really really bad. Alas. Woe is me. Mainly because I really really really really don't want to do my history outline. I did my science, I did my LA, I did my spanish and calculus, but I would do it all over again as long as I didn't have to do my history. I don't know why I am repelled like this. It's quite interesting. Not really, actually.

Angie and I went on a tandem bike ride yesterday, and spoke in English accents for the majority of it. It's much more entertaining to have a normal conversation in British accents then just to have a conversation. I really really really don't want to do my history. I think my mom will have my head on a post if I don't, though. BAH! that's what I say. Morgan's school did Grease as their play. That would be a good play to do, I think. Boulder High did Fame umm, 4-5 years ago. When I was in 6th grade. Yeah, that would be 5 years. wow. That doesn't seem like that long ago. Huh.
Guess what! Nadar's running again. I like Nadar, except he's going to take votes away from the desperately-needing-votes Democrats. That's a bummer, if you ask me. Here's a interesting site World Mood It's impressive how many people were happy on Valentine's day, ain't it?

The more we get together
Together, together,
The more we get together,
The happier we'll be.
For you friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends
The more we get together
The happier we'll be
DAMN DAMN DAMN! Damn cars, Damn dances, damn me! BAH! That's what you get for being a nice older sister, not only no thanks, but no "you can go without me" And poor Miss Weigel. She went through all that trouble so she could come with me, and then I cancel plans. I feel horrible. Horribly, miserably, terribley, dreadfully, ghastly, horrifying, unpleasantly, repulsively, extreamly doubleplusungood (as they would say in 1984 or "I feel awful" to quote Gretel from Sound of Music.) So, here I am alone on a Saturday night, while Winter Ball is happening down the road, and I didn't ask anyone because I chickened out, and then my plans failed anyway because we didn't have a rid! DAMN! I know it's not in my character to cuss, but I couldn't out loud because my sister was in tears, and she already was mad at me, and I felt bad enough, so I couldn't wallow in self pity out-loud. Sorry about wallowing on page. You don't have to read anymore, although I think I'll lighten up, eventually. After all, my blog song of the day is "The more we get together" I mustn't be that upset.

I think that I was a child prodigy. In 1st grade I wrote wonderful poems. For Example
After school
The pencils jump,
the scissors giggle
The markers play
The calendar pieces dance all night
Isn't that wonderful? It goes on for another stanza about glue, books, and chairs. I tell you, it's pure genius. I think Mrs. Heinz still shows it to her classes now. She has it on her flippy poem thing that shows all the poems/songs and you point to with her pencil-pointer (it's not really a pencil, just a pointer that looks like one) It's all most exciting. Then there was that book that I helped write about the Tie-die-on-your-shirt gang, where the gang members would steal fruit to give to the poor, and their weapon was squirting dye on people's shirts. AHHH, good times. Then some where along the way my artistic/creative talent stopped dead, and I kept growing, so no longer am I a child prodigy. Alas. But I'm glad I'm not going to college at age 12, being a year ahead in math is advanced enough for me. You get enough odd looks and annoying "AHHH"s that way, no need to be 6 years ahead of the curve, and why would you want to be, anyway? I know not. It'd kinda mess up your childhood, I think.

Well, right now is when I was supposed to be meeting Emily and Alex and Hally and Alana to go to laser tag, but that didn't work, as you heard from my ranting above. It is truly a bummer. I hope that they all manage to go, though, and have fun, because I'm tired of being the downer. Over and Out.

"Trying to go through life without listening to your heart is like trying to walk with your eyes closed. It works during the mundane stretches of pavement, but when you get to the interesting things (like bridges, turns, and trees) it never succeeds." Guess who said that. I think it's a wonderful quote. If you guess right, you'll get a prize!

Say not, 'I have found the truth,' but rather, 'I have found a truth.'
Kahlil Gibran

I'm reading The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Emily gave it to me. It's very interesting, all philosophical (spelling?) and such. It led me on quite an adventure yesterday (having to do with falling out of trees and legs falling asleep. Ask me about that, if you want) I really would LOVE it if someone commented. That would make my day. And I know that people visit my site, because of that pesky little counter. Anyway, my Spanish subsitute didn't show up today, so after hanging around for 20 minutes, everyone left. So, here I am in the library writing in my blog. Kinda geeky, ain't it? Well, that's what you get for being me. Over and Out!

I'm not crazy
I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me

That song was playing at the base of Keystone this morning. And (believe it or not) I couldn't remember who it was by, so I typed in a line of the lyrics at Google, and low and behold, not only did they have the artist, but also the rest of the lyrics, the CD name, and the date it was written. Matchbox 20, fyi. ANYWAY, that song isn't supposed to have any meaning to it, I just have it in my head.
I think this has been one of the best weekends of my life. Porque? you say. Well, I say, Isn't it nice that I have a list?
  1. OF COURSE, I didn't have school on Friday. Wow. It was amazing. I love having days off school. It makes things so much easier. Then, you have something to look forward to, too. I think Spring Break is coming up in a month or so.....
  2. Sarah's suprise party at Luca Luca's at Pearl Street. Bunch of fun people I wish I knew better. AHHH I love Italian
  3. Friday the 13th, that was slightly exciting.
  4. State Swimming Prelims! Of course, I love all swim meets, so just the fact we had one, counts as a point towards "best weekend ever"
  5. STATE SWIMMING PRELIMS! (deja vu in capitals) Another point because, well, it was State. And I got my best time in the 100 back, I beat Erica Brown for the 4th time running (which is nice, but we're friendly rivals. See Feb. 8 post. I kinda wanted to go a 1:02 but a 1:03.33 will work for me any day. Oh, and Congrats to Katherine, she managed a 1:03.1
  6. Very fun dinner out with the team at Panino's in Fort Collins. AHHHHH I love Italian (deja vu squared)
  7. STATE SWIMMING FINALS!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness. That was the most exciting thing I've been to in my life. It was wonderful. It is truly impossible to describe. We were going in a very far away 2nd place, Cherry Creek was whoopin' us. Yes, tensions were definitely very high, and it was really the last relay that decided. And we were behind in the relay, too, for a while. Emily heard me cuss for the first time (it wasn't the first time I swore, it was just the first time she heard me...) ANYWAY, Thanks to 2 wonderful swims by Sarah Fisher, 3 fabulous relays (placing 2nd, 1st, 1st), a suprise 100 fly by Anna Vahna, Kristen Lahey in general, Emily Weigel, Tory Webster (my new hero), Fort Collins (I do think my diplomatic mission helped. Ask me about that.), Meili Carpenter, Mara Abbott (who gets the sympathy award of the year), Bailey Thompson (23.9!!!), and that heritage girl beating that creek girl in breastroke, and of course the lovely cheering squad which was infinite times better than Creek's cheering squad (which didn't exist 'til the last relay) WE WON!!!!!! Feel free read the Daily Cameraor The Denver Post. Ahh, how completely wonderful.
  8. Dinner at Red Robins, with the State Champions. That was great fun, too, although I was at the end of a rather unfortunate joke having to do with a Crispy Fish burger and Emily Weigel. BAH! I knew it all along, in my subconsciousness. Ask me about that, too.
  9. Wonderfuly skiing at Keystone yesterday and today. They got 2 inches over night, which helped a huge amount, and it was just a wonderland. We were skiing in the trees, and for a while I could've sworn we were surrounded by miles of uninhabited trees without hundreds of people waiting at the lift below. AHHH GOOD TIMES
  10. And then, of course, there is this cool list, which, if you didn't notice, as roman numerals, of which I am a huge fan. =)

I would like to conclude, before my time is up, with a heartfelt thank you to my whole swim team, which as made this winter incredible beyond reason. May the Force be with all of them.

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you
That's the worst grammer I've heard in a very very long time. Not that it's not a good song. I have a long list of interesting topics today, so bear with me. AHEM
  1. Angie was explicating a poem the other day by e.e. cummings that went something like this.
Humanity i love you because you
are perpetually putting the secret of
life in your pants and forgetting
    it's there and sitting down
    on it

And I thought that not only was it very funny, but ironic and true, too. So, now YOU all can think about it. And comment on the webpage what you think of it. The last person who commented on my blog was Emily Weigel, and I know people have visited after that because of my handy little counter, so everyone should comment! YES! thank you.
  2. My second point of interest is a story I thought was hilarious. It's almost as good as the Magic School bus story yesterday. Here it is. (You'll need a little background first) Jill is a swim teacher at Bixby Preschool-5th grade school. One of her students, Kenny, was very upset that he had to take a shower before having to get into the poool.
Jill--Kenny, thank you for showering, but you don't need to be mad at me
    Kenny>--Scowling furiously and stalking away
Jill--Kenny, come get into the pool.
    Kenny--Get AWAY FROM ME, FUZZBALL!!!
Jill--Has to try rereally hard not to laugh her head off, thereby leaving Kenny alone
  3. Friday in the cherry Creek locker room, after the meet, Virginia was somewhat (very) upset that she didn't swim a wonderful breastroke time, and so she was crying, and there were 4 Fairview girls and 4 Boulder (our rival) girls, and I knew 3 of them (Dara, Gwen and Erica Brown) but not very well, and Erica (my fellow backstroker) just comes over and hugs Virginia. (Which I thought was a very nice gesture, even though they didn't know who the other was) and then we had this long conversation how we wanted a "do-over" meet, and it went on and on, and I was happy that we could be friends, despite our "many" differences.
Yes, well, remember to commment. That would make my week.

Thanks you Mr. Busdriver, Busdriver, Busdriver
Thank you Mr. Busdriver for taking us home
We had our last swim meet before State last night. Centennial League Finals. Well, it was the prelims of the Centennial League Finals, the actual finals are today. I like swim meets, and I think that most people (or most swimmmers) don't very much, which is too bad, because that's what we do when you swim. Oh well. So, I'm excited for finals, it's my last chance to make State in the 100 free, but I don't know if that will happen, because it's not a good pool. Audrey was uber-excited last night because it was her last time ever having to swim in that pool. :-( that makes me sad. Once they leave, I'll never, ever see them again. Oh well, Audrey was happy, Hailey was upset- she went a 1:07 in backstroke, and she wanted to make state. I would have given up my finals spot for her, but she was just barely 15th, just barely too far away to benifit if I dropped out. Bummer. Virigina was upset, too, becuase she went a 1:17 in breaststroke, which isn't that bad, but she gets to swim again today in some relays, so her season isn't over, like Hailey's is. I still have another week. Emily Cares is ultra excited about state. She's not going to coach us next year, and I'll be very sad. She's going to grad school to become a teacher. Emily is so nice, though, it's incredible.
Here's my quote of the day. It's more like a converstation, though.
Kristen--Look that Cherry Creek school-bus has reflectors around the window. It's glowing
Emily-- The school bus is magical.
Kristen--It's the Magic School Bus!
Emily-- Don't you hate it when we end up at the intestines rather than at Cherry Creek
Kristen--Can't breath I'm laughing so hard
Virginia-- I don't get it
Kristen-- GASP!

Wasn't that entertaing? yes, that's the best joke I've heard in an very very long time.

Fly's in the buttermilk
Shoo fly, shoo
Fly's in the buttermilk
shoo fly, shoo
Fly's in the buttermild
Shoo fly, shoo
Skip to my loo my darling

So, I didn't know what song to write, because none was stuck in my head, and then Ellen was talking about her LA teacher writing an essay about "Shut-eye", so there it came, like a wind from the east. Not that that simile made any sense. It was really funny, today in Journalism, Ilana and I started talking about gerunds and appositives, and it was quite funny, in a not-so-funny sort of way. Well, that's my story.
You know, humans are so odd. Some people change their behavior very easily, and other's say they will, and they don't at all. You just don't know what to expect. I guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Now there's a story.

I was walking along
Started singin' this song
Had nothing better to do
Than to sing this song to you...
I made that song up, with Jesse and Jenny and Angie, who have left me all alone. Well, not really, as Angie is still here. But JGN and JGN are gone, which they have been for quite a while. It just doesn't seem like it. There's more too it, the song, I mean. It's by "Eunice and the Beekeepers". I think that it was 'Beekeepers' perhaps it was "Beatkeepers" or "Beetkeepers" I don't know. It twas a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Isn't it funny how Star Wars was set in the past?
